Romantic celestial allure.

The moon holds a significant role in the Middle East, orchestrating the rhythm of life and marking the beginning and end of all festivities with its celestial appearance. In Arabic culture, invoking the moon is also a reference to romance, using the term ‘my moon’ as a grandiose expression of endearment for a beloved, symbolizing beauty and everlasting devotion.

With a warm and lavish quality, this fragrance blends rose, oud, and frankincense with a surprising abundance of ripe red berries. The profusion of redcurrant and raspberry notes adds sweetness and vibrancy, subtly reminiscent of the fruit-flavored shisha widely enjoyed throughout the region.

One of our legendary perfumers who collaborates with perfume editor Frédéric Malle to create our unique fragrances. The essence of our brand is this relationship between Frédéric and his perfumers.

Julien Rasquinet’s life took a decisive turn when his father met nose extraordinaire Pierre Bourdon, by accident at an airport. Rasquinet, who knew nothing about perfumery beyond his own passion for it, called Bourdon, who decided to take him instead of thousands of other candidates to be his last student and carry on his legacy, as Edmond Roudnitska had done with him. Call it the perfumer’s intuition.

After completing his training, Julien Rasquinet created his own fragrance house in Normandy and was working in Dubai for IFF four years later. He has been creating beautifully innovative Middle Eastern perfumes ever since. Frédéric Malle, who had heard of Rasquinet’s great talent from his friend Pierre Bourdon, has been observing him since that time. He knew that he had found a new perfumer for Editions de Parfums, the minute he smelled what was to become The Moon.
